Become a Mimique Founding Tester!
Most apps teach vocabulary and grammar. But real confidence comes from actually speaking and being understood. If you feel nervous speaking, struggle with pronunciation, or feel like you know the words but cannot say them, Mimique is for you.
Become a Mimique Founding Tester
The first version of Mimique is ready!
I am looking for a small group of testers to help shape Mimique before launch. I am building this because I need it. Seven years in France, a B2 certificate, and I still freeze when speaking French. If that sounds familiar, I would love your help.
This is not a polished app from a big tech team. It is just me, listening to real people who know what it feels like to struggle to get the words out. Your feedback will be what turns this into an app that genuinely helps expats and foreigners get by in France. What you get
- Free access to Mimique throughout the beta
- Real input on what gets built next, your voice actually shapes the roadmap
- Your name credited as a founding tester
- 50% off Pro when Mimique launches
- Direct line to me, I read every message
What I am asking for
- Use Mimique regularly over the next week or so, however it fits your life
- Fill in two short feedback forms, one halfway through and one at the end
- Tell me when something breaks, confuses you, or could be better
- Optional chat with me about ideas and future features (only if you fancy it!)
Limited beta spots. Limited time only.

About me
Why I built Mimique
I've lived in France for 7 years. On paper, my French is solid. I have the DELF B2 certificate, a level above what you need for French citizenship and enough to enrol in a French university. I can read it, write it, and understand (most of it). The problem is, I have textbook French, not conversational French and since moving here I've spent most of my time working from home, which means I rarely get the chance to actually speak it day to day.
So put me in front of French people and I panic, stumble and make mistakes. The words are in my head, I just can't get them out of my mouth fast enough, or clearly enough.
I'm a web application developer and I've spent years building web apps for others but Mimique is the first thing I've ever built for myself, because honestly, I really need this app!! It's the tool I wish existed when I first started my language learning journey. I was fed up of being told what phrases I needed to learn but in every day life I was stuck!
Mimique is for people like me who've put in the hours, who know more than they can say, and who are tired of feeling stupid in their second language. It's not about grammar drills or vocabulary tests. It's about learning words and phrases you want to learn and getting the words out of your head and into your mouth, one phrase at a time, until speaking feels less alien and more natural.
If any of this resonates with you, I'd love you to join the beta. 💚
