Speak French Confidently with Mimique!
Three months of beta testing, 411 testers, 245 signups, way past the 30 I’d originally planned for. iOS mic permissions nearly broke me. Two surveys, 58 responses on the first, 33 on the second, and those 33 became founding members.
I wrote about the whole process here:Building Mimique Solo: What Three Months of Beta Testing Taught Me About Shipping a SaaS App
The short version: it took three months instead of three weeks, testers shaped roughly 90% of what shipped in that time, and I’m now a few days into public launch, I have 3 paid subscriptions!
Honestly, I still can’t quite believe this went from an idea born out of my own French-speaking panic to something real people are using. Every one of those 33 founding members gave up their time for free because they believed in what I was building, and that’s not something I take lightly.
If you want to see what came out of it, or you know someone learning French, give it a try for free: mimique.app
I’d love you feedback whether from a techie or from a language learner 💚
